Best Areas to Stay in Labuan Bajo
Town and Harbour
The town centre runs along Jalan Soekarno Hatta, the main street above the harbour. Staying here means you can walk to restaurants, cafes, dive shops, and the Kampung Ujung night market, and most boat tours pick you up from your hotel or leave from the harbour a few minutes away. It’s the most practical base for a first visit or a short stay.
There’s a wide range here, from hostels to the five-star Meruorah Komodo by the marina. Seaesta Komodo is a standout, a hotel and hostel with a rooftop pool and some of the best reviews in town. The streets are steep in places, so expect a short uphill walk to some hotels.

Hills Above Town
The hills behind the harbour, along roads like Jalan Binongko and up toward Puncak Waringin, have the best sunset views over the islands. You’re only a few minutes by car or ojek from the main street, but it’s quieter and cooler at night.

Pede Beach

Island Resorts
For real seclusion, a few resorts sit on small islands a boat ride from the harbour. Seraya Kecil island has two, Sudamala Resort Seraya and The Seraya Resort Komodo, with beach bungalows, reef right off the sand, and boat transfers arranged by the resort. Further along the coast, TA’AKTANA, a Luxury Collection resort, sits on its own beach at Wae Rana.
